In Brief

The world of hospitality is evolving. Faced with travellers seeking experiences, locals looking for vibrant places, and investors aiming to maximise the profitability of urban spaces, one trend is emerging: hybrid hospitality.

This new hotel model combines accommodation, coworking, dining, events, and culture in a single location. It aims to create a multi-use hotel, designed to welcome a diverse audience throughout the day.

At Moon Hospitality, we believe in the power of these versatile living spaces, connected to their neighbourhoods, and drivers of added value for investors. Our first project, Maison Mère, is the perfect example.

1. Hybrid Hospitality: A Response to Today’s Challenges

Optimising Space, Diversifying Traffic

In Paris, space is scarce and expectations are diverse. It is in this context that hybrid hospitality emerges: a strategic lever to create a profitable hotel model while meeting contemporary needs.

A hotel is no longer just a place to sleep. It becomes a multifunctional platform where coexist:

  • Coworking spaces for nomadic professionals and locals

  • Gourmet restaurant for curious food lovers

  • Cultural events to foster connections between locals and international travellers.

  • Événements culturels pour créer du lien entre les locaux et les voyageurs internationaux.

This diversification of flows in hospitality not only allows for monetising every square metre but also ensures economic resilience, especially during periods of tourist downturn.

1. Why Invest in a Hybrid Hotel Model?

A Strategic Vision for Investors

Multiple revenue streams: room nights, coworking, F&B, private events…

  • Multiplication des sources de revenus : nuitées, coworking, F&B, privatisations…

  • Enhancement of a hotel asset through neighbourhood anchoring, space modularity, and the quality of the experience offered

  • Valorisation d’un actif hôtelier par l’ancrage quartier, la modularité des espaces, et la qualité de l’expérience proposée

  • Alignment with impact funds’ expectations, in terms of responsible use and local integration

Building on projects like Maison Mère, Moon Hospitality supports investors in solid, human-centred projects that combine meaning and performance.

Optimising financing for a hotel investment:

There are multiple financing options to create a hotel: bank loans, private investors, crowdfunding, or public aids specific to the hotel industry.

A good business plan must include detailed financial projections to convince investors and financial partners of the project’s viability.

3. Maison Mère: The Embodiment of Hybrid Hospitality

An Urban Resort in the Heart of the 9th Arrondissement

PRIVATION MAISON MÈRE

Maison Mère, a 4-star hotel located in Paris’ 9th arrondissement, was designed as an urban resort. Owned by the Temimi family for several generations, it was awarded Best of the Best by TripAdvisor in 2024, a testament to its uniqueness and the recognition from its guests.

Its design was created by the European Design Office agency, which successfully translated the spirit of the project into a functional, modular, and scalable architecture.

For Maison Mère’s architecture to reflect the spirit of the project, it had to create a hybrid, modular, and evolving space that everyone could make their own: guests from all walks of life, artists, creators, and neighbourhood residents.

The Highlights of Maison Mère :

  • The coworking space welcomes workers during the day, then events and aperitifs in the evening.

  • The gourmet restaurant Nectar offers a bistronomic menu at lunch and a gourmet menu in the evening, accompanied by events such as jazz concerts.

  • The Nectar bar, with its signature cocktails, attracts both travellers and locals.

  • Regular events (openings, exhibitions by local artists, and themed aperitifs) strengthen local ties.

  • A living art gallery, where every painting, object, or piece exhibited is available for sale, offering visitors the opportunity to take home a fragment of the place.
